A large number of BJP leaders, including Central and Delhi ministers, attended the tribute meeting held on Friday in the memory of veteran party leader Professor Vijay Kumar Malhotra, who had passed away recently.

Remembering the party stalwart, Union Minister Manohar Lal said, “Malhotra Ji inspired many not only in the RSS, Jan Sangh, and BJP, but also through the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and in the field of sport.”

Lal said that it feels deeply painful when someone is referred to with the prefix “late,” adding that Malhotra’s vast political experience and his deep understanding of politics bear witness to the fact that he gave a new direction to the BJP, not only in Delhi, but across the country.

RSS Prant Pracharak Anil Agarwal remembered Malhotra and said that his passing is not just a loss for his family, but an irreparable loss for society.

“He was a symbol of simplicity, honesty, and a spirit of service. He always stood with everyone in their joys and sorrows. His natural demeanor, soft-spoken nature, and simplicity brought him close to people’s hearts,” Agarwal added.

Speaking at the meeting, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva said that one must learn from certain qualities of Malhotra, which were “to remain firm on one’s stand, earn respect even from the opposition, and make others accept your views.”

Sachdeva said that the values of discipline, patience, and restraint are something one must learn from his life, and equally important is the ability to stand firmly by one’s words, which he exemplified throughout his journey.

“Every person becomes great through their work. The amount of respect Malhotra Ji received from opposition leaders is rarely seen for others. To earn the respect of even one’s political opponents and to make them acknowledge your convictions — that is something to learn from Malhotra Ji,” he added.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta called the meeting a gathering of inspiration, rather than a mourning occasion, which is dedicated to the dynamic leader who not only inspired thousands of workers like her but also helped them all to grow.
